Overalls in Asheville

Overalls in Asheville | Maya UnMarketed

Good morning!! How’s everyone’s week after the holiday weekend going? Stephen and I had a fun Fourth of July! His siblings, dad, and stepmom-to-be are here this week and we’re all having a blast! My sister-in-law Devon just adopted a new puppy and Ruby’s the absolute sweetest. She’s 10 months old and a rhubarb color (which inspired the name “Ruby”!) with those endearing bat ears that some dogs have. I’ve definitely called her “Dobby” a time or two. 😉

A-Fourth-Dable Red, White and Blue Finds

(Image of this playsuit via Free People–though I altered it ever so slightly. Don’t worry, it’s the most expensive thing on this list! I love it and had to add, it but everything else is in my usual price range.) A-Fourth-Dable. *Laughs loudly at own joke.* If you tell me my puns aren’t funny, I’m going to bury my head in the sand and not listen to you. I’ll also bury my toes in the sand while we’re at the beach for the 4th of July… and maybe dig a little cup-hole-der…for my rosy tumbler of rose’, of course!

“Racking” up a Wishlist… And Some Amazing Buys!!!

Hello beautiful friends! And Happy Monday! (Is “Happy Monday” an oxymoron…?) The word “oxymoron” always makes me crave shrimp, because the most noteworthy ninth grade example of an oxymoron was “Jumbo shrimp.” I think part of the reason it stuck with me is because “Jumbo Shrimp” is really more of a classification than a downright 100% oxymoron… For some reason that bothered my nitpicky 14-year-old self lol.

Navy Striped Romper

Navy Striped Romper | Maya UnMarketed

I have a question: When did things become “stripe” instead of “striped”? Or “scallop” instead of “scalloped,” etc.? As a lifelong language lover and {recovering} Creature of Habit, I couldn’t help but notice the shift during recent perusals of other blogs and of course online shopping sites. At some point in recent-ish history things became double nouns (“stripe” and “romper”) instead of adjectives followed by nouns (“striped romper”). Or maybe the stripes rebelled against being portrayed in the past tense?!?

Summer Stripes $10 and Under! AND an AMAZING H&M sale!

Summer Stripes Under $10 | Maya UnMarketed

(Image via Forever 21!)  Good morning! Sooo funny/awesome story about my post today… When I was writing what was supposed to be today’s post (me in my navy striped Macy’s romper; gonna post that tomorrow), I was going to add an extra widget for “Other Affordable Summer Stripes” but then that widget grew…and grew… and grew some more. So I gave it it’s own post!
