Good morning!!

How’s everyone’s week after the holiday weekend going?

Overalls in Asheville | Maya UnMarketedOveralls in Asheville | Maya UnMarketedOveralls in Asheville | Maya UnMarketedOveralls in Asheville | Maya UnMarketedStephen and I had a fun Fourth of July! His siblings, dad, and stepmom-to-be are here this week and we’re all having a blast! My sister-in-law Devon just adopted a new puppy and Ruby’s the absolute sweetest. She’s 10 months old and a rhubarb color (which inspired the name “Ruby”!) with those endearing bat ears that some dogs have. I’ve definitely called her “Dobby” a time or two. 😉

My brother-in-law also has a dog (remember when Lady made an appearance in my Dairy Free Tuna Salad post?) and so does my father-in-law. We are also dog sitting Annie, my mother-in-law’s dog, so there are a total of FOUR furry friends. You probably saw a lot of them if you follow me on snapchat (mayaes)!

On Monday, we all went hiking and swimming at Dupont Falls and then came back for an evening of steaks, Malbec, guac, mango salsa, salad, and lots of champagne. It was quite the spread!

What could be more American than denim overalls (similar here and here— how cute are the front buttons on that second pair?!) and some fresh white staples?

In reality, I wore this outfit when Stephen and I went to Asheville two weeks ago, the same day we shot this post. I love overalls since they’re such a fun combo of quirky and classic. And something about them just screams summer! I’m also a believer in buying these white v-necks in mass amounts; they’re so comfy, under $4, and the perfect everyday anchor in your wardrobe.

I’m happy my Circus by Sam Edelman sneaks are still online! I saw a lot of you guys clicked on them when I last wore them, so just an FYI for those of you who like them that they’re still around. This link has most of the sizes left at $39.99 but if you happen to be a size 10 you can get them here for only $33. I’m also digging the black ones ($39.99) in almost the exact same style.

Stephen and I are headed down to St. Pete on Friday and I can’t wait!! I feel like I’ve been a bit down these last couple weeks (cue “Summertime Sadness” lol) and I’m ready to see my mom, mother-in-law, best friend and the St. Pete crew overall.

I’ve just felt a bit moody lately. This is my current vibe wrapped up in a retweet, and I’m ready to change it but I’m not really sure how…  Stay tuned while the *awful millennial* navigates the choppy blue (literally) waters of her quarter life crisis haha.

xx Maya

Outfit Details

Overalls: Macy’s, old. (similarsimilar with cute front buttons)

White tee: Forever 21

Sneakers: Circus by Sam Edelman

Lips: “Sassy Mauve” and “Mauve Shimmer” liner (both drugstore!)

Rings: Blue topaz was a 16th birthday gift from my parents (similar option under $90) and the faux pearl ring is a super old eBay purchase I still love (similar for $13)

Also FYI I’m dying over Circus by Sam Edelman shoes in general. How fun are these “Rose’ All Day” ones? For only $33, I may need to add them to my closet… These “Bomb Shell” ones are giving me life as well. Do people still say that– “giving me life”?! Or was that as dated as my Lana reference? If I was gonna go that route, I probably should have found a way to throw “National Anthem” in there. 😉

I don’t know if you’re into podcasts, but I strongly suggest Millenial for the Sterotypical millennial type feels (if you don’t already listen to it). It starts out a little self indulgent, but one of the more recent episodes really got me. She has one of those this was really, really, really hard and I almost gave up, but I’m so glad I didn’t moments and it just felt very relatable. Also, I hope we get to see you while you’re in St. Pete!
